Over 90,000 sqm of APEC’s MATFLOW® Geocomposite drainage layer was installed beneath the foundation slab to relieve hydrostatic pressure and prevent uplift. The system continuously collects and redirects groundwater toward perimeter collection trenches, ensuring dry and stable subgrade conditions while safeguarding the structure’s waterproofing integrity.




Located in Al Ain City, the project involved constructing a large commercial complex on land with a high groundwater table. To ensure long-term structural stability, an effective groundwater drainage system was required beneath the foundation. APEC’s MATFLOW® Geocomposite drainage was selected to manage hydrostatic pressure and safeguard the building’s waterproofing system. The installation integrated seamlessly with the perimeter drainage network, providing reliable subsurface water control in a region prone to seasonal fluctuations in groundwater levels.
